URGENT! SEND COMMENTS TO CUT INDUSTRIAL POLLUTION AT SUNCOR AND BEYOND
Dear Friends,
This month, Colorado's Air Quality Control Commission (AQCC) is wrapping up its "GEMM 2" rulemaking to implement a recently-passed law requiring large industrial facilities to cut GHG emissions and related toxic air pollutants. The final hearing and decision is scheduled for September 20-22.
Unfortunately, the AQCC's current plans may allow polluters to pay into a new state fund or pay for mitigation projects offsite in order to comply without reducing the pollution that affects neighboring areas.
Please click here to send your public comments by the deadline today, September 13, urging the AQCC to pass rules that protect the health of disproportionately impacted communities living near polluting and noncompliant facilities like the Suncor refinery just north of Denver, and 17 other factories statewide.
We encourage you to personalize your comments by introducing yourself and saying why you care. If you are a health professional, please include your credentials.
Thanks for taking action to protect Colorado's climate and communities!
